Meet Goldsmith and Designer Seth Gardner

Excellence in craftsmanship and creative in design.

At the very heart of SG7 Jewellery is Goldsmith and Designer Seth Gardner – whose 18ct gold jewellery is made with a passion of designing and a love for the traditional craft of goldsmithing. For over 35 years he has been making fine jewellery from precious metals in which time he has built a reputation for transforming those metals and fine gemstones into beautiful contemporary heirlooms.

From the beginning

Seth’s journey as a goldsmith began in childhood, when a school project first sparked his fascination with jewellery making. On leaving school he completed his degree in Jewellery Making and Design at Sheffield Hallam University then worked within the jewellery industry for a couple of years.

In 2000 he was given the amazing opportunity to live and work in Italy. It was here that he trained under a master goldsmith and perfected his craft of hand making fine jewellery. Italy is world renowned for both handcrafting jewellery and for design, his years there formed his style, his craftsmanship and his brand name.

While working in Italy his friends and colleagues couldn’t pronounce the “th” sound in his name so they called him “Sette” which in Italian means number seven hence his jewellery brand name SG7 jewellery.

Returning to Yorkshire

Seth then opened his first studio in Horsforth, Leeds, before establishing his boutique shop and workshop in Skipton’s beautiful Craven Court. Here, every bespoke piece is designed and handcrafted by him with love, passion and individuality.

Seth works closely with each client—from first consultation to final fitting – ensuring the journey to each piece of extraordinary jewellery is as meaningful as the finished piece. He will keep in contact with you throughout the process to make sure you are happy with everything.

“One of the favourite parts of my job is to watch a customer as they open the jewellery box and see the expression of delight on their face. There have been quite a few emotional moments on both sides of the bench”
